Introducing Shoebox + Family Trees

Over the last year, we’ve watched countless beautiful old photos, documents and handwritten letters pour into our site. People have rediscovered their most treasured memories - the ones hidden in old shoeboxes and stuck in photo albums - and finally found a place to share them with friends and family.

It’s been exciting to watch 1000memories evolve, and today we’re introducing some new features to make sharing your memories even easier.

Shoebox

Shoebox is the new home for all of the content you’ve uploaded to 1000memories. With Shoebox, you can easily view, sort and organize all of your memories in one place, and explore the memories of your family & friends. Just find the Shoebox tab on their memory pages and help them fill in the backstory (dates, captions and tags) of memories that you shared together.

Memory pages for everyone

Building 1000memories has made us more aware than content doesn’t “belong” to just one person. Even a single photograph can hold fragments of many people’s stories. By allowing everyone to have memory pages, it’s much easier to take a messy shoebox from your closet and organize these memories by people in order to better tell their life stories.

The Family Tree

As people began creating pages for multiple family members, we realized that those photos, stories and memories should all be connected. Our family tree is the best way to easily map out and view your family stories in one place.

We hope that these changes make it much easier to use 1000memories to bring the albums, scrapbooks, and photo-filled shoeboxes of your lives out of the closet and into an online, shareable space where they can be remembered and celebrated.

As always, we highly encourage your feedback. Our goal is to make 1000memories into the best possible tool for you and your family and friends. With your help, we can continuously improve the site and work together to build the best possible way to organize, share, and discover the memories of everybody. Please shoot an email to questions@1000memories.com and we’ll get back to you sooner than you think.
